Barrymore eludes housemates in task

Celebrity Big Brother housemates have failed the first part of their shopping task after not spotting Michael Barrymore waving at them.

Housemates are doing a "rich and famous" task to win a luxury food budget.

Coolio, Lucy Pinder and Tina Malone were told to be members of the paparazzi, staking out the garden to snap non-housemate celebrities. Meanwhile, Terry Christian and Mutya Buena were Chesney Hawkes devotees who had to run to the "Chesney shrine" in the garden every time his hit The One and Only was played. Big Brother played the song and both ran to the garden to do an impression of a hawk.

Nine minutes later Big Brother had not signalled for them to stop, but both decided to call a halt anyway. "That is taking liberties," said Buena. "We've failed it anyway," said Christian.

Pinder's pal, glamour model Michelle Marsh was lifted above the wall in a cherry picker. "Oh my God," Pinder and Michelle Heaton shouted, as Malone photographed her.

Malone and Coolio were in the "press pen" when Barrymore was lifted over the wall. But they did not notice him waving and failed their part of the shopping task.

Christian and Buena both rushed outside again to do their Hawkes ritual - as the real Hawkes was lifted over the wall. Coolio and Malone took pictures and Ulrika Jonsson and Michelle Heaton sang The One and Only to him.

Separately, Coolio told Big Brother he is deliberately trying to wind housemates up. "I got tired of hearing everyone bitch and moan and groan so I decided to give them something to bitch and moan and groan about other than the task," he said.

He added: "I'm a winner man. I refuse to be a loser. I expect to win this whole thing. I do have a strategy. I'm setting up a few things - I'm testing people right now, seeing what their limits are."

Meanwhile LaToya Jackson and Tommy Sheridan were taking part in a brand new celebrity reality show - Celebrity Condiments: On Ice. And Ben Adams and Heaton (Benchelle) were adopting and caring for 10 'babies' in Big Brother's creche.
